A Whitestone Christmas - Christmas House Tours
Elizabeth Sweet Whitestone, Betty as you may know her, was a force in our community of Colonial Beach. She lived in Colonial Beach for 32 years, while visiting the beach with the Old Dominion Yacht Club. Betty was a long-standing member of the Colonial Beach Historical Society, a docent for more than 20 years at our Colonial Beach Museum and was the driving force behind the Christmas Home Tours for 20 consecutive years.
She was key to Colonial Beach Tourism, volunteering at the Welcome Center, the Chamber of Commerce, Grand Marshall in 2021, organized the registration and awards of the Annual Rockfish Tournament, organized the Oktoberfest, 4th of July Bazaar, Silent Auction & Hourly Prize Wheels at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. She was an Icon and well loved.
In honor of Betty Whitestone, The Colonial Beach Historical Society and Museum will be hosting the 22nd Annual Holiday Home Tours in Colonial Beach. Touring some beautiful homes in Colonial Beach, tours start at the Colonial Beach Historical Society and Museum at 128 Hawthorne Street. Tickets can be purchased online for Saturday and Sundays tours along with the Holiday Reception closing our weekend.
